Mary Magdeline; Out of Darkness & Into His Light
Dan Schmidt, July 18, 2010Part of the Women of the Bible series, preached at a Sunday Morning service
Luke 8:1-3, Mark 16:9
Mary Magdeline, from whom Jesus cast out seven evil spirits, is one of six Mary’s in the bible. She was one of four women who stood by Jesus at the cross and the first person to actually see the risen Christ. Imagine that; the first person to see the risen Christ was not one of the apostles, nor was it Mary His mother. The first person to see Him who was at one time possessed.
Jesus’ choice to bestow such a privilege on a woman who obviously had a dark and sordid past clearly shows His power to bring people from total depravity and spiritual darkness into the light of His glory. Join us in examining Mary Magdeline; Out of Darkness & Into His Light and see that no matter how great Satan’s grip is on man, Christ is greater.

(KJV)
Mark 16:9
9Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. (KJV)
